The Medical Examiners for District 19 are responsible for the investigation of all unattended and non-natural deaths in the counties of Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, and St. Lucie. They perform postmortem autopsies and examinations to determine the cause and manner of death in accepted cases and as deemed necessary.

The Operations Manager is a highly responsible managerial position responsible for overseeing the daily operations at the Office of the Medical Examiner, District 19.  This position reports directly to the Chief Medical Examiner.

Our administration team is tasked with the daily organizational duties of maintaining the office setting.  Our administration team fulfills all incoming and outgoing requests, while diligently maintaining the integrity of our records and files. 

Our dedicated staff manages a variety of necessary office functions such as preparing death certificates, releasing public records, processing cremation approvals, the creation and closure of case files, coordinating the activities of the medical examiners, ordering supplies, and communicating with agencies, funeral homes and grieving families. 

The Office Manager is responsible for monitoring the operation of the Administrative Team.

The Chief Forensic Investigator assists the medical examiners/pathologists in conducting death investigations by developing an organized, concise, and accurate account of the facts surrounding deaths in the jurisdiction of District 19 in addition to supervising the Forensic Investigations staff.

Forensic Technicain Supervisor

The Forensic Technician Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the Forensic Science Technicians, the monitoring of morgue activities and assisting the medical examiners/pathologists in the conduct of performing autopsies and evidence gathering for law enforcement agencies.
